A Shamrock Shake, The Healthy Way

Had to try it out 🙂 note to self dont freeze banana with peel. My little one liked her green shake for St Patty’s. I added some protein to mine.

I just read that a McDonald’s Shamrock Shake has 530 calories and 73 grams of sugar in it.  Yikes!

Here’s a healthier, tasty, additive, dye and chemical-ingredient-free option…

Combine these ingredients in a blender:

-1 cup lowfat milk or almond milk

-1 frozen ripe banana

-a few drops of mint extract

-a small handful of semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips

-a large handful of fresh spinach

-1/2 tsp cocoa powder, if desired

I promise, you won’t even taste the spinach!!  Happy St. Patty’s Day.
